Vernon Hills’ Glacier Ice Arena Keeps Kids Active this Fall with Ice Skating.
Saturday is my daughter’s last soccer game of the fall season. While even I have to admit that it’s getting a bit chilly to be standing around watching park district soccer, I am not looking forward to the onslaught of “Mom, I’m bored” statements that come with the end of the practice sessions. Luckily, The Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills seems to have
just the cure for the “no more soccer blues” that I’m looking for: ice skating!
Starting this month, the Glacier Ice Arena is starting its holiday session of figure skating lessons. There are four different class levels for everyone from 3 years old up through adults. Prices range from $67 to $105 depending on age, skill level and class duration. Definitely a small price to pay to keep kids active and healthy during a long Chicago winter.
The Glacier Ice Arena in Vernon Hills is also one of the only arenas in the area that still provides open skate hours for the public, so even if your child isn’t into formal lessons you can still have a fun afternoon on the ice. For more information on figure skating lessons at the Glacier Ice Arena or open skate hours, please go to their website at www.glacierskate.com.
