I always loved taking my kids to fall festivals when they were younger. The beauty of fall combined with the sense of community is a great blend. We loved spending time with new and old friends from around our area. Vernon Hills & Surrounding Community Doing 5k Dash
Keeping up with the latest listings in Vernon Hills and Long Grove keeps me moving, and keeps me in the loop about area activities. Another activity which will keep a lot of people moving is the October 15 Diamond Dash, a 5K race sponsored by the Diamond Lake Educational Foundation. Joshua Ackerman, President of the newly formed DLEF and a Vernon Hills resident, hopes the kick-off brings in serious runners as well as families and friends looking to exercise together for a good cause. Vernon Hills’ Hosts Ryan’s Run
Vernon Hills’ Hosts Ryans Run in Century Park
If you are looking for a family-friendly event benefitting a good cause, Ryan’s Run in Vernon Hills may be just the activity for you. On Saturday, September 17 the inaugural event of the Ryan Briere Foundation steps off at Century Park. The 5k run/walk takes participants around Big and Little Bear Lakes. There is plenty of entertainment for the kids as well, with magicians, face painting, a DJ, balloonist, and bounce house.
Cheers to Blue 60- Mundelein’s newest Eatery
The Vernon Hills-Mundelein-Long Grove triangle is home to a new restaurant, Blue 60. Owner Steve Itsines named his new venture after his favorite martini and the restaurant’s location on Route 60. I was welcomed into the spacious sports-themed restaurant by the friendly hostess and chose a cozy booth where I could enjoy lunch with a girlfriend.
Vernon Hills Community Garage Sale
As your saavyVernon Hills realtor, I’m always looking for a good deal. There are many deals to be found at garage sales, and the Village of Vernon Hills is taking that idea to a new level. On Saturday, September 10, the village is hosting the first Vernon Hills Community Garage Sale from 9am to 1pm at the Vernon Hills Metra Station on Route 45.
Vernon Hills Ribfest was a huge success!
As a Vernon Hills Realtor , I love to all the attend the wonderful festivals, Vernon Hills has to offer. Vernon Hills residents had a new location for socialization when Vernon Hills rolled out its first RibFest this past weekend. This fun filled event ran last Friday and Saturday night at Little Bear Lake in Century Park.
Hungry attendees had their choice of five rib vendors serving up sample servings and full platters. If you unfortunately missed this event, the rib vendors included Sweet Baby Ray’s from Wood Dale, Uncle Bubs from Westmont, Real Urban Barbeque from Highland Park, Smokin’ T’s from Long Grove, and The Full Slab from Third Lake. After tasting the many varieties of ribs, the mostly adult crowd indulged in corn, funnel cakes, and tasty treats in addition to ribs. The beer tent was hopping both nights.
